2026: A New Era for the Dene Team
Goodbye DOC… and Hello to the Future
If you've received one of our recent emails, spoken to the team or visited our social media channels, you'll know that 2026 has been an exciting year here at Dene.
From our home in Yeadon, West Yorkshire, we've celebrated being named one of The Times Best Places to Work 2026, raised money for charity through a sponsored bike ride & run, and, behind the scenes, we've been working on our biggest project in years: a brand-new website and IT system.
But before we look ahead, we'd like to take a moment to look back.
For almost twenty years, our business has been powered by the Dene Order Client, or as we all know it, The DOC. It has been the backbone of everything we've built, faithfully supporting us as we've grown and evolved.
The DOC was designed and lovingly maintained by our original IT Manager, Rob, who sadly passed away several years ago. Retiring the system feels a little like saying a final goodbye to him too.
So, this blog is dedicated to both The DOC and to Rob - one of the most intelligent, unique and genuinely hilarious people many of us have ever had the privilege to work alongside.
Wherever you are, Rob, we've been thinking about you this week.
While it's the end of one chapter, it's also the beginning of another.
Our brand-new website and IT system have been built with one goal in mind: making life in General Practice just that little bit easier.
You'll find a completely new My Reports area within My Account, giving you instant access to real-time information about your spending and account activity. Order tracking, standing orders and returns have been simplified, and you'll still be able to access your recent order history, favourites and financial documents with ease.
Searching is now faster and smarter too. You can search not only our product catalogue, but also your favourites and previously ordered products, helping you find what you need in seconds. You'll also be able to contact us directly through the website and keep track of any ongoing enquiries whenever you log in.
Every improvement has been shaped by feedback from the people who matter most - you. Through feedback surveys, conversations and visits to Practices across the country, you've told us what would make your lives easier, and we've worked hard to build a website around those ideas.
We've even created a range of short tutorial videos on the How To page to help you navigate and use the new site.
We genuinely hope you love using it as much as we've loved creating it.
This project has been quietly taking shape for well over a year. Alongside the day-to-day demands of supporting thousands of practices, every department across Dene has played a part in bringing it to life.
As we write this on Saturday 1st August, many of us are in the office making final preparations for Monday's launch. Tomorrow there'll be more of us here, working through our weekend to make sure everything is ready.
Why?
Because we want Monday to feel just like Friday.
Our biggest priority has never been launching a new website. It's been making sure that your experience of Dene remains every bit as reliable, personal and seamless as it's always been.
Watching every member of the Dene Team pull together over the past few months has been genuinely inspiring. Every department, every individual and every late night has been driven by the same motivation: looking after the Practices we work with.
Moments like this remind us why Dene was recognised as one of The Times Best Places to Work.
It isn't because we get our birthday off or because we offer paid sabbaticals.
It's because, on a beautiful Yorkshire Day weekend in August, an entire team has chosen to be here, doing everything they can to make sure our Practices have the best possible experience on Monday morning.
That's the kind of company Dene is.
And honestly, you can't ask for much more than that.
